A HOLIDAY coach operator has made an offer to buy a Barry hotel that went into administration last summer.

Gilbert Lemon and Greg Palfrey of Smith & Williamson in Bristol were last year appointed as administrators of Martin Willcock Ltd, which traded as the Best Western Mount Sorrel Hotel in Porthkerry Road, Barry.

And the hope was that the business, which has continued trading as normal throughout, would find a permanent buyer.

Thirty-one people work at the 42-bedroom hotel - the largest in Barry.

Smith & Williamson's Restructuring and Recovery team said: "We have accepted an offer from a holiday coach operator and are hopeful that a sale could take place in the next few weeks.

"The details of the deal remain confidential."
