A TRIO of ancient mariners have shared more than 180 years worth of their sea tales at a Barry Yacht Club event.
Three of the club’s vice presidents and former Commodores, Brian Dotchon, Roger Donkin, and Michael Righton, shared their reminisces of the Club’s history along with their own epic maritime tales of sailing in the Bristol Channel and further afield to the south coast, France and Scotland.
The sailors addressed more than 50 people at the latest of the Yacht Club’s Winter Talks programme.
Vice Commodore, Len Cattle said: "It was wonderful to hear first-hand experiences of the Yacht Club’s own history over the last 60 years, peppered with some humorous episodes of sailing exploits."
Barry Yacht Club is based at The Pier Head on Barry Island.
