Sully Spartans get set for nets

7:10am Thursday 16th February 2012

SULLY Spartans Cricket Club start indoor nets at the Swalec Stadium on Monday, March 5, and thereafter on the three following Mondays, from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.

With practice sessions at the home ground of Burnham Avenue not in place until 2013, the Spartans' outdoor nets on Monday, April 2 from 6.30pm until 9.30pm, will have to take place outside Sully – and players will be notified of the venue.

The first game of the season is away to Bengal Tigers on Sunday, April 8.

2012 is a transitional season for the Spartans. With Saturday and midweek league cricket on the horizon, a final season of friendly cricket is in the offing with a tour to Poole in July.

The Spartans would like to thank Sully Community Council and Secretary Gavin Beddard (congratulations on the new baby!) of the Seashore Grill for their continuing support.

As some wag said: "Only 470 days to the first league match!"
